I did an ECU re-learn procedure which cured it for a week. Battery never seemed to struggle starting the car, but it was 3 years old and not a top of the line brand.
Did a bit of investigating and suspected that the push pin on the bonnet switch wasn't being deprerssed far enough. (Far enought to break circuiot but not reliably). The switch is very sensitive and only requires light pressure to break circuit. The switch does not appear to be adjustable for height.

Good morning, I could do with giving my 2009 C4GP 1.6HDi battery a bit of a top up charge. I was just wondering if itās ok to charge it in situ, I can see the positive terminal is easy to get to but the negative not without removing covers etc. Can you use the jump start negative point on the slam panel as the negative for the battery charger?
With the positive cable attached to the terminal it was reading between 2 and 3 volts.. but if I detached the cable and tested the battery positive and the body work terminal I was getting mid 12 voltsā¦so the battery was good, re attached the positive cable clamp and it jumped back down the 2-volts..
